Tips On How To Create A Professional Photography Portfolio

People love great pictures and you can make a lot of money if you are a great photographer. Although, this is the case, you need to first create a professional portfolio in order to attract great clients. To help you out here are tips on how to create a great photography portfolio:

Only post the best

Remember that pictures you put on your portfolio are a representation of your work; therefore, you should ensure that you put only the best. One of the best ways of having the best images is by taking as many photos as possible. For example, if you are taking a photo of a building, you should take as many photos as possible.

You should then go to your computer and edit the photos as much as you can. You should be ruthless when editing them. For example, you should not let an image with even a single mistake to make it to your portfolio.

Before you post the image you should show it to a few of your friends. For the image to make it to the portfolio it should get a "wow" from all of the people who see it.

The image should also be consistent with the primary body of work that you want to be hired. For example, if you are interested in being hired to take wedding photos, you should ensure that the photos you post are wedding related.

Update your books regularly

Just like in any business, you need to update your work. Although, you should not update the books daily, you should make the effort of updating them whenever you want to improve on the quality. For example, you should update them when you buy a new and more powerful camera that takes great photos.

Be organized

When posting the photos you should ensure that you are well organized. For example, you should ensure that the first picture you post is a killer. This is because this is the image that introduces you and promises the client that there is more to come of the same quality.

For ideal results, you should make mini-sequences of 2-5 images within a 20 image book. You should balance the images and ensure that they complement each other. To get the attention of the client you should avoid placing two wide shots on facing pages.

You should also ensure that the images that you place at the back of the portfolio are great. This is to leave a great memory. While you should ensure that the images you post are no so huge, they should be big enough to do justice to your work.
